Tim and Jack discuss a story that Japan is growing eyeballs.

“The version circulating claims that in Japan there’s some project (or an initiative) to grow eyeballs — maybe artificial eyes, maybe some weird bio-engineering experiment — and the suggestion is that this is a kind of playing God scenario, where humans are creating eyes (or eyeballs) like organs.”
 “And the Facebook posts were pretty dramatic: it implied that Japan was moving beyond simple research and entering territory normally in science-fiction: organ production, maybe even surveillance or enhancement of eyes.”
