3I/ATLAS was first detected on July 1, 2025, by the Asteroid Terrestrial‑impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) telescope in Chile. NASA Science+2Space+2
Its full designation: 3I/ATLAS (C/2025 N1). The “3I” indicates it is the third known interstellar object (an object not bound by the Sun's gravity) after 1I/ʻOumuamua and 2I/Borisov. Space+1
Observations show comet-like activity: a coma (cloud of dust/gas around the nucleus) and perhaps a tail. Which is why scientists mostly call it a comet rather than an asteroid. NASA Science+2Space+2
Importantly: its trajectory is hyperbolic (i.e., it’s coming into the solar system from interstellar space and will leave again) — so it isn’t orbiting the Sun like typical comets or asteroids. Space+1

“The version circulating claims that in Japan there’s some project (or an initiative) to grow eyeballs — maybe artificial eyes, maybe some weird bio-engineering experiment — and the suggestion is that this is a kind of playing God scenario, where humans are creating eyes (or eyeballs) like organs.” “And the Facebook posts were pretty dramatic: it implied that Japan was moving beyond simple research and entering territory normally in science-fiction: organ production, maybe even surveillance or enhancement of eyes.”

Here, the Apostle John describes two beasts that rise to power during the end times: one from the sea and one from the earth. Together, they form a system of political, religious, and economic control that demands global allegiance.
We’ll unpack what the beast represents — a symbol of worldly empire and opposition to God — and how the “image of the beast” becomes a powerful instrument of deception. According to Revelation 13, the first beast rises from the sea, representing a great political power or kingdom blaspheming God and persecuting His people. The second beast, often called the false prophet, emerges from the earth, performing miracles and persuading humanity to worship the first beast.

In that context, these ADU reforms are part of a strategy to unlock incremental forms of housing — not just big projects — recognizing that meeting California’s target of 2.5 million new homes (or more) by 2030+ requires flexibility at every scale.
Going forward, some questions to watch:
Will cities resist or delay updating their processes?
Will the courts interpret these clarifications in favor of more pro‑housing outcomes, or will local rules continue to push back?
How much additional ADU / JADU construction will these changes generate, especially in more expensive or constrained localities?
Can this momentum extend to “missing middle” housing types beyond ADUs — duplexes, triplexes, small multiplexes, etc.?
